We are on the brink of the dawn of the solar system economy.
The first phase is going to be the development of the cis-lunar economy.
According to United Launch Alliance ( ULA ), By 2030 we will have a hundred people working on the moon, which are going to be able to generate a nine hundred billion economy.
In the new economy, the thermodynamics will rule.
For the first time in the history of mankind, we are going to be able to produce machines, equipment, tools and infrastructure with POSITIVE potential energy due to gravity.
Let 's perform the following GedankenExperiment. Imagine we are constructing a submarine underneath the ocean, where the gravity field has a lower intensity than on the surface of the earth, and therefore we will be able to be more efficient in terms of energy expenditure.
Besides, the submarine itself will have a positive potential energy due to gravity, hence it will be able to move into a lower geodesic curve without using additional energy.
So, we are going to be busy running the business of mass attraction, by modifying the orbit of the NEOs ( Near Earth Objects ) , using both the electromagnetic force and the gravitational field.
In a sense, we are going to create a ring of stellar material around the moon, in order to build a satellite orbiting the moon, which will become the Orbital Spaceship Factory.
In doing so, we are going to invert the process that created the rings of Saturn.
After thousands of collisions, the seven beautiful rings of Saturn were formed, as well as the fifty three moons orbiting the giant gas.
We are going to create a ring around the moon to construct a moon to the moon, but our ring will be the product of a well organized geospace engineering, instead of being the product of collisions.
All the artifacts constructed in our orbital factory will have more value than their equivalent counterparts constructed in the surface of any celestial body, due the positive potential energy due gravity.
Some of these spaceships and artifacts created in our orbital factory, will never experience a negative potential gravity field.
Perhaps our first generation of interplanetary spaceships will look more like nuclear submarines than airships, precisely because they were built in orbit under the influence of a positive gravitational field.
